In most cities around the world, many people who rely on wheelchairs face numerous barriers and difficulties when traveling around the city or community.

Children are the masters and builders of the future city. To cultivate their empathy and concern for special groups, the design aims to allow children to participate in community and city construction through games, inspiring courses, etc.


Our project goal is to raise awareness of barrier-free facilities, foster empathy and responsibility among the next generation of city builders, and have a profound educational impact on the core target groups.

Problem

The challenge faced by children is the lack of understanding and empathy for wheelchair users, due to limited exposure to accessible facilities and wheelchair users in daily life.

The broader context is the current neglect of wheelchair users in urban design, which affects the quality of daily life of wheelchair users.

At present, urban accessibility in some cities and regions is low. The reasons for insufficient urban barrier-free facilities may be the following:

Insights 1.

Wheelchair users are unwilling to go out by themselves because public areas do not have many facilities to help them go out smoothly, they feel uncertain, frustrated, and tired.

Insights 2.

Children will be the future city constructors and how to raise their empathy and awareness is important for city building.

Through serious game design, we can enhance the attention of children, the future builders and maintainers of cities, to urban accessibility.

To motivate children to find accessibility issues in the street, we designed an upload function, in which children can upload pictures and gain awards in the game

The game sets missions for children users, by uploading pictures of obstacles in the city, and AI intelligence detects and gives the analysis.

Incentive Mechanism
We provide positive incentives through clear game goals and feedback, such as game exploration, question-and-answer games, etc., so that players can continuously accumulate star points and redeem tasks, cities, badges, etc. in the store.

Reflection
The essence of the product is an educational interactive game and education platform. The core benefit is that by simulating real scenes, children can understand and pay attention to the needs of wheelchair users.

The most innovative thing is that through the guidance of virtual characters, the educational process is made more interesting and vivid.
